MARY ALEX
DANIELS
New York based Theater Producer & Administrator
Hi! I'm Mary Alex
Thanks for stopping by. I'm a creative producer and long-time theater lover originally from Los Angeles, California. There is so much that intrigues me about the theatrical art form, but what excites me most as a producer is deconstructing and reimagining what we think of as “classical” theater and developing new work centering female voices.
I hold a B.A. in Theater and Entrepreneurship from UCLA, where I collaborated with theaters such as Center Theatre Group, Antaeus Theatre Company, and A Noise Within. I also served as the Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Company at UCLA and the Manager of Research and Development at Theatrical Education Group.
In 2021 I moved to New York where I earned my MFA in Theatre Management and Producing at Columbia University. Since moving to NYC, I have interned with Jujamcyn Theaters, Boneau/Bryan-Brown, and 101 Productions. I have also produced new works at The Chain Theater, Players Club, and Lenfest Center for the Arts at Columbia.
I served as the Producing Assistant at Broadway and Beyond Theatricals, where I collaborated on shows such as The Cottage on Broadway, The Kite Runner National Tour, and Judgment Day at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
I am currently working at Hugo Six, founded by Seth A. Goldstein and Isaac Hurwitz, as their Executive Assistant.
In addition to my work in the theater, I founded and lead my own website design agency, MAD Creative, where my mission is to help artists and creatives develop an authentic digital presence.
When I'm not at the theater, you can find me reading, running, cooking a new recipe I found on Instagram, or spending time with my cat Patsy (named after Patsy Cline, of course).
